Wasiu Aroyewun
Community Support Worker
I joined the Roads Program in October 2024 after working in the Canadian healthcare industry for about two years, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of this incredible team. From day one, I was inspired by the genuine commitment of both staff and participants to building strong, supportive relationships. It’s not just about providing care—it’s about making real connections and creating a community where everyone feels valued.
One of my favourite parts of the program is golfing with the participants. Not only have I learned a lot about golf from them, but I’ve also seen how engaging in new activities brings out their confidence and excitement. It’s amazing how much we teach and learn from one another every day.
I come to Roads with training in Crisis Prevention, Standard First Aid/CPR, and BC Food Safety. Safety and well-being are always my top priorities, but what truly drives me is the sense of community and belonging that the program fosters.
Working at Roads has been a fantastic experience, and I’m grateful to be part of a team that genuinely cares about making a positive difference in people’s lives.
